What we collect, and why.
This page describes what actually happens during a Mihna Interview session — not a generic legal template. If something here ever stops being true, this page is wrong and should be fixed, not the other way around.
Camera, microphone, and screen
You choose what to allow before every session — camera and microphone are required to run a live round, screen sharing is used only during the coding round. Nothing is recorded or stored beyond the session unless you separately opt in to “store my recordings” on the consent screen. That choice defaults to off.
Behavioral and integrity signals
While your camera is on, we read attention and presence signals (for example, whether you appear to be looking away or have left the frame) to build a private, advisory summary for whoever reviews your interview. This is never used to score or fail you — it is a separate note on the report, not a gate.
Résumé verification
If you use résumé verification, we check claims you make (like GitHub activity) against public sources to flag anything worth a closer look. This produces a trust note for your profile — it does not silently penalize your interview score.
How long we keep it
Session data is kept for 90 days, then automatically deleted — transcripts, recordings, behavioral data, and scores. If you want everything deleted sooner, email us and we'll do it by hand immediately.
Aggregated research use
Separately from the above, you can opt in to let de-identified, aggregated data from your session help improve the interviewer models. This is off by default and asked for explicitly — turning it down changes nothing else about your experience.
Who sees this
Your report is visible to you and to admins on the platform you took the interview through (e.g. your university or the employer you applied via). We don't sell identifiable interview data to third parties.
